The BC Racing BR coilover kit E88 Convertible (part number I-149-BR-RA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 1 Series E88 Convertible, model years 2007 to 2013. The spring rate is 5.5 kg/mm front and 10 kg/mm rear.

This BC Racing BR kit is intended for the 1 Series E88 Convertible. BC Racing supplies it with 5.5 kg/mm front and 10 kg/mm rear, so with stiffer rear springs than the kit for the E81, E82 and E87 (5.5/8 kg/mm).

The BR series is BC Racing’s all-rounder: monotube dampers with a linear piston, 30-click damping adjustment and a ride height that you set independently of the spring preload. This gives the open-top 1 Series a tighter suspension for the road, with reserves for a track day.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. On some cars the pillowball top mount at the front requires a small modification to the upper mounting; if in doubt, contact us. After adjusting the ride height, have the alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If BC Racing temporarily does not have this kit in stock, you can still order and we will let you know when it is coming.
