Description
Trailing arm BMW E90 E91 E92 E82 E84 E87 E93
These reinforced BMW E90 trailing arms replace the original rear trailing arms of the 3 Series E9X and the 1 Series E8X. The standard arms are weak by design and can bend, especially in corners where high forces twist the arm. This steel version is stiffer and keeps the geometry of the rear axle in place better.
The arms are suitable for motorsport, such as drifting and track work, but also for everyday use. You get a set of two, so you replace left and right in one go.

Installation and delivery
Each of these BMW E90 trailing arms goes in place of the original rear arm and uses the same mounting points. Always replace both sides at the same time, so that left and right respond in the same way. You can assess the existing bushes and bolts during the swap: worn bushes partly cancel out the benefit of a stiff arm.
Only tighten the bolts once the car is on its wheels, at ride height. This prevents the bushes from being put under preload. Have the wheel alignment checked after fitting, especially if you have also replaced other parts of the rear axle.
You will find more arms to adjust the geometry of your rear axle in our camber arms category.

A rear axle that stays straight under load starts with an arm that does not bend.
Why choose reinforced BMW E90 trailing arms?
In drifting and on track, the rear trailing arms are twisted hard. A bent arm changes the position of the rear wheel and with it the handling. These arms of S355 steel with an extra reinforcement are made precisely for that load. They are TIG-welded, powder-coated and replace the original parts.
On a high-mileage road car it is also a worthwhile upgrade. An arm that gives under load causes unsettled behaviour when braking and when accelerating out of a corner. With a stiffer arm the rear responds more predictably, which you notice with every quick change of direction.
Frequently asked questions
Which original part does this arm replace?
These BMW E90 trailing arms replace BMW OE number 33322406291.
Do I get one or two?
You get a set of two BMW E90 trailing arms: one for the left and one for the right.
Is the arm also suitable for a road car?
Yes. These BMW E90 trailing arms are intended for motorsport, but also for everyday use.
What material are the arms made of?
2 mm thick S355 sheet steel with an extra reinforcement. They are TIG-welded and black powder-coated.
Which cars does this set fit?
The BMW E90, E91, E92 and E93 and the 1 Series E82, E87 and E88. The product name also mentions the E84.
Why do the original arms bend?
The original design is fairly weak. In corners the arm is twisted, and under high forces it can bend as a result.
