This big brake kit Alfa 147 from V-Maxx is a complete brake kit for the front axle of the Alfa Romeo 147, 156, 164 and GT, with 330 mm two-piece brake discs and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium.

If you use your Alfa Romeo at a track day or on a winding mountain road, you ask a lot of the brakes. This V-Maxx kit quickly dissipates the heat that this generates: the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, which conducts heat about 5 times better than steel.

You get the kit ready to fit with sport brake pads and adapters for the original brake hoses, plus a 2-year warranty from the Dutch manufacturer V-Maxx Autosport. With the TÜV certificate according to §19.3, the big brake kit Alfa 147 is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the big brake kit Alfa 147 according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and observe the tightening torques stated in them. The kit is only intended for cars with original steering knuckles. Do not use wheel cleaner on the brake kit, as it attacks the aluminium; a mild soap is sufficient. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Options for this kit: a different caliper colour (red RAL 3020 as standard, black, blue or yellow at extra cost), V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses 460 mm (set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml), a V-Maxx wear indicator set and an extra set of Ferodo FDSR216 DS Performance brake pads for the track, without TÜV approval. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Is the big brake kit Alfa 147 suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. An Alfa 147 with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 330 mm discs and 4-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.

Does V-Maxx also offer a kit for the rear axle?

No. V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle; about 90% of the braking power comes from the front axle.
