Description
Volkswagen Golf 6 V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston
With this big brake kit Golf 6 355 mm from V-Maxx, you convert the front axle of the Golf VI to 355 mm two-piece brake discs with 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium. Sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters are included in the delivery.
The kit is intended for Golf VI versions from 48 to 199 kW with a steel steering knuckle, Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp and original rear brake discs of at least Ø271 mm. On the track, that gives more braking power and braking behaviour that suffers much less from fade under repeated hard braking.
V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer and gives a 2-year warranty. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 for use on public roads.
Key benefits
- Six pistons per caliper, made of forged aluminium
- 355 mm discs with directional cooling channels, two-piece and grooved
- Lightweight construction: high-carbon steel discs on ultra-light floating aluminium bells
- Fits from 18 inch, where the 365 mm kit requires 19 inch
- Less fade: aluminium conducts heat about 5 times better than steel, so the kit cools down much faster
- Complete with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and adapters for the original rubber brake hoses
- 2-year warranty and TÜV §19.3
Suitable for
Volkswagen Golf VI (1K), 10-2008 to 12-2014

- Only for cars with original rear brake discs of at least Ø271 mm
Minimum wheel size: 18 inch. Check with the fitment template (WFC, Wheel Fitment Chart) whether the wheels clear the caliper; a wheel spacer is sometimes required.

Fitting and delivery
Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The kit only fits cars with original steering knuckles: the steel steering knuckle with Ø55 mm clamp. Use a mild soap for cleaning and no wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.
Optionally available: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.
A Golf VI with six pistons and 355 mm discs keeps braking predictably, even after the umpteenth hard stop.
Why choose this big brake kit Golf 6 355?
The big brake kit Golf 6 355 mm is the 6-piston kit for drivers who run 18 inch wheels. You get more disc diameter and piston area than with the 330 mm kit, while the minimum wheel size is one size smaller than with the 365 mm version. The caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium and the discs have directional cooling channels, so the braking power stays consistent under repeated hard braking. With TÜV approval, you can also use it on public roads.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 355 and 365 mm kit?
Both have 6-piston calipers and fit the same Golf VI versions. The 365 mm kit (20 VW365 08) has a larger disc and requires wheels of at least 19 inch; the big brake kit Golf 6 355 mm already fits from 18 inch.
Does the kit fit a Golf VI with Ø50 mm front shock absorbers?
No. This kit is only for cars with a steel steering knuckle and Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp. The 330 mm kit 20 VW330 04 is available for Golf VI versions with Ø50 and Ø55 mm front shock absorbers.
Is the big brake kit Golf 6 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?
Yes, definitely. A Golf VI with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.
Can I use this kit on the track?
Yes, that is what the kit is made for: thanks to the aluminium parts and the directional cooling channels in the discs, the braking power stays consistent under repeated hard braking. For heavy track use, remove the dust seals from the calipers, as V-Maxx advises.
What is the delivery time?
The delivery time is 4 to 7 days.
