Volkswagen Passat 3G V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston

This big brake kit Passat 3G 355 mm from V-Maxx has been developed for the Volkswagen Passat (3G) from 08-2014 to 01-2024. You get 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, complete with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters.

The kit is intended for all versions from 81 to 206 kW with Ø55 mm front shock absorbers, an aluminium steering knuckle and original brake discs of at least Ø288 mm at the front and Ø271 mm at the rear. If you brake hard a lot with your Passat, at a track day or in the mountains, you will notice above all that the brakes stay consistent: aluminium conducts heat about five times better than steel and the discs have directional cooling channels.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer; the kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 and is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the big brake kit Passat 3G 355 mm according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied, using the tightening torques stated in them. The kit is only intended for cars with original steering knuckles. Wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium, so use mild soap. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Optionally available: V-Maxx Steelflex brake hoses 620 mm (set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Which version do I need, 355 or 365 mm?

Both kits fit the same Passat 3G versions and have 6-piston calipers. The big brake kit Passat 3G 355 mm (20 VW355 03) requires wheels of at least 18 inch. The 365 mm kit (20 VW365 03) has a larger disc and requires at least 19 inch. In both cases, check the clearance with the fitment template (WFC).

Does the kit fit every Passat 3G?

Why do I sometimes hear a click when braking?

The pads deliberately have 1 to 1.5 mm of play in the caliper, so they do not seize at high temperatures. When you change driving direction, they shift briefly and you hear a click. That is normal.
