Cupra Formentor V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston

This big brake kit Formentor 355 mm from V-Maxx is a performance brake kit for the front axle of the Cupra Formentor, with 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium.

The kit fits the Formentor KM from July 2020 with steel steering knuckles and Ø55 mm front shock absorbers, in all versions from 77 to 228 kW. If you use the Formentor on the track or at track days, what counts most is how consistent the brakes remain. On this kit, the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, which conducts heat about five times better than steel, and the discs have directional cooling channels. The result is much less fade under repeated hard braking.

V-Maxx Autosport from the Netherlands supplies the kit ready to fit with sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters to which the original rubber brake hoses connect. The TÜV certificate according to §19.3 means the kit is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the big brake kit Formentor 355 mm according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The kit only fits cars with original steering knuckles, in this case the steel knuckle with Ø55 mm clamp. Do not use wheel cleaner on the brake kit, as it attacks the aluminium; clean it with mild soap. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

As an option, we supply V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 355 and 365 mm kits for the Formentor?

Both kits have 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium and the same application. The big brake kit Formentor 355 mm fits wheels from 18 inch; the 365 mm kit (20 SE365 21) has a larger disc and requires at least 19 inch.

Is the big brake kit Formentor 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. A Formentor with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.

Does the kit fit every Formentor?
