With this big brake kit E87 from V-Maxx, you upgrade the front axle of your BMW 1 Series to a complete performance brake kit with 330 mm two-piece brake discs and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium. The kit fits the E81 and E87 hatchback, the E82 coupé and the E88 convertible, and comes ready to fit with all vehicle-specific adapters.

The 1 Series is light and agile, but the standard brakes get hot quickly at a track day or during a drift session. With this kit you get more braking power and a firm pedal, and the braking performance stays consistent for much longer when you brake hard lap after lap.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3, which means it is also approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Brakes are a safety-critical part, so fit the big brake kit E87 carefully according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions. The kit is only intended for cars with original steering knuckles. Clean the brake kit with a mild soap and never with wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium.

You can extend the kit with a different caliper colour (black, blue or yellow at extra cost), V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml), a V-Maxx wear indicator set or an extra set of Ferodo FDSR216 DS Performance brake pads (without TÜV). Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

This big brake kit E87 tackles that with plenty of aluminium: the caliper, bracket and bell conduct heat about five times better than steel, and the directional cooling channels in the disc draw the heat outwards. The result is a pedal that stays consistent, session after session. Does the big brake kit E87 fit behind my wheels?

The big brake kit E87 requires wheels of at least 17 inch. It is not only the size in inches that counts: the design of the wheel also determines whether there is enough room around the caliper. So always check the fitment template (WFC) before you order; a wheel spacer is sometimes required.

Which version do I need?

This 330 mm kit fits all listed 1 Series versions up to 195 kW. If your car has 150 to 195 kW and you want even more braking performance, there are also 355 and 365 mm kits with 6-piston calipers.

Can I use this kit on public roads?

Yes. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3. It also remains approved after an officially approved power upgrade; the kW limits refer to the original output.

What options are available?

You choose the caliper colour (red RAL 3020 as standard, or black, blue or yellow at extra cost) and can add Steelflex steel braided brake hoses, Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid, a wear indicator set and Ferodo DS Performance brake pads. Please note: those Ferodo DS pads have no TÜV approval.
