Volkswagen Arteon V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston

With this big brake kit Arteon 355 mm from V-Maxx, you replace the original front brakes of the Volkswagen Arteon (3H) with a complete brake kit featuring 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium. The kit is supplied ready to fit, including V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters to which the original rubber brake hoses connect.

You notice the difference above all under repeated hard braking, at a track day or on a long descent: the large discs and the aluminium parts dissipate heat much faster, so the braking behaviour stays consistent and fade sets in much later. V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer and supplies this kit with a TÜV certificate according to §19.3, so it is also approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and follow the tightening torques stated in them. The big brake kit Arteon 355 mm is intended exclusively for cars with original steering knuckles. Never clean the brake kit with wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium; mild soap is sufficient. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Optionally, we supply V-Maxx Steelflex brake hoses 620 mm (set of 2): steel braided brake hoses for the front axle with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval. Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set are also available. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

The big brake kit Arteon 355 mm brings the braking power of 6-piston calipers to the Arteon without you having to move to 19 inch wheels, as with the 365 mm version. The biggest advantage lies in the heat management: caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, so the kit cools down much faster after hard braking. As a result, you keep braking consistently for longer before fade sets in. Thanks to the TÜV approval according to §19.3, you can use it on public roads as well as on the track.

What is the difference between the 355 and 365 mm kits for the Arteon?

Both kits have 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium and apply to the same Arteon versions. The big brake kit Arteon 355 mm (20 VW355 01) fits wheels from 18 inch. The 365 mm kit (20 VW365 01) has a larger brake disc and requires wheels of at least 19 inch.

Does this kit fit behind my wheels?

The big brake kit Arteon 355 mm requires wheels of at least 18 inch. Always check the clearance with the fitment template (WFC); with some wheels, a wheel spacer is needed to get enough room around the caliper.

Is the big brake kit Arteon 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. An Arteon with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.

Is there also a V-Maxx kit for the rear axle?

No, V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle. About 90% of the braking power comes from the front axle, so that is where a bigger brake kit gives the most gain.
