BMW F20 / F21 1 Series V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston

This big brake kit F20 355 mm from V-Maxx is made for the fastest and best-equipped 1 Series models: the M135i and M140i, and the F20 and F21 with factory-fitted M Sport brakes. The kit consists of 355 mm two-piece brake discs, 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, sport brake pads and vehicle-specific adapters.

With 235 to 250 kW, an M135i or M140i is fast on the track, and you notice that in the brakes. Six pistons and a large floating disc ensure that you keep the same pedal even after several hard stops in a row.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer; the kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 and is therefore approved for use on public roads.

If your F20 or F21 with 70 to 175 kW does not have M Sport brakes, the 330 mm kit is the right choice. Minimum wheel size: 18 inch. Always check the clearance with the fitment template (WFC, Wheel Fitment Chart); a wheel spacer is sometimes required.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the big brake kit F20 355 mm according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. It only fits cars with original steering knuckles. Clean the brake kit only with a mild soap: wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium. If you use the track often and hard, remove the dust seals from the calipers, as V-Maxx advises.

Optional: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (PTFE inner hose, with TÜV approval), Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

An M135i or M140i deserves brakes that are as serious as its power: six pistons, 355 mm and a TÜV certificate.

This kit gives you the extra braking performance of six pistons, while you can already run wheels from 18 inch. The secret lies in the material: aluminium conducts heat about five times better than steel, and the caliper, bracket and bell are all made of aluminium. Which version do I need?

First check whether your car has factory-fitted M Sport brakes. For an F20 or F21 with 70 to 175 kW and M Sport brakes, or an M135i or M140i, choose the 355 or 365 mm kit. Without M Sport brakes, the 330 mm kit is the right one.

What is the difference between the 355 and 365 mm kit?

Both have 6-piston calipers and fit the same versions. The 365 mm kit has a larger disc and requires wheels of at least 19 inch; this 355 mm kit already works with wheels from 18 inch.

Does the kit fit behind my wheels?

The big brake kit F20 355 mm requires wheels of at least 18 inch. Always check the fitment template (WFC) before you order; a wheel spacer is sometimes required.

Is the big brake kit F20 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. A 1 Series with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval according to §19.3 remains valid.
