The big brake kit i30 N 355 mm from V-Maxx is a complete front brake kit for the Hyundai i30 N (PD) with 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium. The kit fits all versions from 184 to 206 kW, including the facelift and the Performance.

The i30 N is built for spirited driving, and on the track that asks a lot of the brakes. This V-Maxx kit increases the disc size, spreads the clamping force over six pistons and dissipates heat quickly through aluminium calipers, brackets and bells. The result is more braking power and braking performance that stays consistent for much longer under repeated hard braking.

The kit comes with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters for the original rubber brake hoses. V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer, gives a 2-year warranty and has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 for this kit, which means it is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The big brake kit i30 N 355 mm only fits an i30 N with original steering knuckles. Clean the brake kit with a mild soap, as wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Optionally available: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and the V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 355 and 365 mm kits for the i30 N?

Both kits have 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium. The big brake kit i30 N 355 mm (20 HY355 01) requires wheels of at least 18 inch. The 365 mm kit (20 HY365 01) has a larger disc and requires at least 19 inch. In both cases, check the fit with the fitment template (WFC).

Is the big brake kit i30 N 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. An i30 N with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.

Is it normal for the brake pads to click?

Yes. V-Maxx deliberately gives the pads 1 to 1.5 mm of play so they do not seize at high temperatures. As a result, you hear a click when you change between driving forwards and reversing.

Does V-Maxx also offer a kit for the rear axle?

No. V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle; around 90% of the braking power comes from there.
