The big brake kit Ibiza 6K 5×100 is the V-Maxx performance brake kit for the Seat Ibiza 6K, Cordoba and Toledo 1L with PCD 5×100, with 330 mm two-piece brake discs and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium on the front axle. The kit is supplied ready to fit; vehicle-specific adapters allow the original rubber brake hoses to be connected.

The Ibiza 1.8 Turbo Cupra is also among the applications. On the track and at track days, the kit provides more braking torque, a firm pedal and much less fade under repeated hard braking. V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer; the kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3, which means it is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The kit only fits cars with original steering knuckles. Do not use wheel cleaner on the brake kit, as it attacks the aluminium; a mild soap is sufficient. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Options: a different caliper colour (red RAL 3020 as standard; black, blue or yellow at extra cost), V-Maxx Steelflex brake hoses 500 mm (set of 2) for the front axle with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, 500 ml of Ferodo brake fluid, a V-Maxx wear indicator set and an extra set of Ferodo FDSR216 DS Performance brake pads (these do not have TÜV approval). Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Which version do I need: 4×100 or 5×100?

This kit (20 SE330 13) is for PCD 5×100. For PCD 4×100, choose 20 SE330 01-4. If you want to stay on 15 inch wheels, you can choose from the 290 mm kits 20 SE290 06 and 20 SE290 06+AD; these are for PCD 4×100.

Is it normal for the brake pads to click?

Yes, that is how it should be. The pads deliberately have 1 to 1.5 mm of play so they do not seize at high temperatures. As a result, they click briefly when you change direction of travel.
