Description
Kia Sportage QL V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 330 mm 4-piston
With the big brake kit Sportage from V-Maxx, the Kia Sportage (QL/QLE) from 09-2015 gets a complete performance brake kit on the front axle: 330 mm two-piece brake discs and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, red (RAL 3020) as standard. The kit fits all versions from 85 up to a maximum of 136 kW.
An SUV like the Sportage has a lot of mass to slow down, and under repeated hard braking the brake temperature rises quickly. This kit is built to dissipate that heat fast: the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, which conducts heat about 5 times better than steel, and the grooved discs have directional cooling channels. As a result, the braking stays consistent, with much less fade.
V-Maxx supplies the kit ready to fit, with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters for the original rubber brake hoses. V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer, gives a 2-year warranty and has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 for this kit: the kit is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery
Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The big brake kit Sportage is only suitable for a Sportage with the original steering knuckles. Do not use wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium; clean the brake kit with a mild soap. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.
Options for this kit: caliper colour black, blue or yellow (at extra cost), Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml), a V-Maxx wear indicator set and an extra set of Ferodo FDSR216 DS Performance brake pads without TÜV approval. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.
A lot of mass, a lot of heat: the V-Maxx 330 mm kit keeps the braking of the Sportage consistent, precisely when it matters.
Why choose this big brake kit Sportage?
For an SUV with up to 136 kW, braking is all about consistent performance, even after several hard stops. This V-Maxx kit gives more braking power thanks to the larger disc and the forged caliper, and keeps the temperature under control thanks to the large amount of aluminium. With the choice of four caliper colours, TÜV approval for the road and a 2-year warranty, it is a complete upgrade for the Sportage.
Frequently asked questions
Does the big brake kit Sportage fit behind my wheels?
The big brake kit Sportage requires wheels of at least 17 inch. Check with the fitment template (WFC) that the caliper turns freely inside the wheel; a wheel spacer is sometimes required.
Is the big brake kit Sportage suitable for a car with more power than standard?
Yes, definitely. A Kia Sportage with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 330 mm discs and 4-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.
Is it normal for the brake pads to click?
Yes. The pads deliberately have 1 to 1.5 mm of play, so they do not seize when hot. As a result, you hear a click when you switch between driving forwards and reversing.
Does V-Maxx also offer a kit for the rear axle?
No. V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle, because around 90% of the braking power comes from the front axle.
What is the delivery time?
The delivery time is 4 to 7 days.
