Description
Volkswagen Touran 5T V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston
For the second-generation Touran, V-Maxx supplies this big brake kit Touran 5T 355 mm, with 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium on the front axle.
The kit fits the Touran II (5T1) with an aluminium knuckle and Ø55 mm clamp, in the versions from 81 to 140 kW. It is supplied ready to fit: the V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and the vehicle-specific adapters for the original rubber brake hoses are included.
The advantage lies mainly in heat management. Aluminium calipers, brackets and bells release heat much faster than steel, and the grooved discs have directional cooling channels. As a result, the braking performance stays the same even under repeated hard braking. The Dutch manufacturer V-Maxx Autosport supplies the kit with TÜV approval according to §19.3 and a 2-year warranty.
Key benefits
- More braking torque thanks to 355 mm discs
- Forged 6-piston calipers made of aluminium
- Cools down quickly: aluminium has about 5 times the thermal conductivity of steel
- Grooved two-piece discs made of high-carbon steel with directional cooling channels
- Floating bells made of ultralight aluminium
- No new brake hoses needed: the original rubber hoses connect to the adapters supplied
- Road use permitted with TÜV §19.3
- 2-year warranty from the manufacturer
Suitable for
Volkswagen Touran II (5T1), from 2015
- Touran II (5T1) with Ø55 mm front shock absorbers, from 05-2015: versions from 81 to 140 kW
- Only with an aluminium knuckle and a Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp
- Required original disc size: at least Ø288 mm at the front and Ø271 mm at the rear
Minimum wheel size: 18 inch. Use the fitment template (WFC, Wheel Fitment Chart) to check the clearance between caliper and wheel; with certain wheels, you will need a wheel spacer.

Fitting and delivery
For fitting, follow the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied with the kit, including the tightening torques. Only fit the big brake kit Touran 5T 355 mm to a car with original steering knuckles. A mild soap is suitable for cleaning; wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.
Available as options: V-Maxx Steelflex brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2, PTFE inner hose, TÜV), Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.
More disc, more pistons and above all more cooling capacity: this is how a Touran II keeps braking predictably, even when fully loaded.
Why choose this big brake kit Touran 5T 355 mm?
The big brake kit Touran 5T 355 mm is the logical choice for a Touran II on 18 inch wheels. You get a larger disc and more pistons than standard, but the biggest gain lies in heat dissipation: because the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, the kit cools down quickly and maintains its braking performance under repeated hard braking. Thanks to TÜV, you can use the kit on public roads without further ado.
Frequently asked questions
Which V-Maxx kit do I need for my Touran?
There are two kits for the Touran II (5T1). This big brake kit Touran 5T 355 mm requires wheels of at least 18 inch; the 365 mm version (20 VW365 04) gives more braking torque and requires at least 19 inch. If you have a Touran I (1T) with a steel knuckle, you need one of the separate V-Maxx kits for the 1T.
Is the big brake kit Touran 5T 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?
Yes, definitely. A Touran II with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.
How do I know whether my wheels fit?
Use the fitment template (WFC). It shows you whether the caliper clears the spokes and the inside of the wheel. Wheels smaller than 18 inch do not fit; with tight wheels, a wheel spacer may be required.
Can I also upgrade the rear axle with V-Maxx?
No, V-Maxx only has kits for the front axle. About 90% of the braking power is delivered there.
What is the delivery time?
The delivery time is 4 to 7 days.
