Description
Wilwood GS Compact master cylinder 0.625 integral
The Wilwood GS Compact master cylinder is the latest generation of Wilwood’s well-known compact cylinders. This version has a 0.625 inch (5/8 inch, 15.9 mm) bore and an integral reservoir: the fluid pot sits directly on the cylinder, so you need no separate tank, hose or bracket.
That makes it the cylinder for builders who are short on space. Think of a stand-alone hydraulic handbrake circuit for drifting, a pedal box in a club sport or track car, or a hydraulic clutch in a custom build. The body is high-pressure die-cast aluminium with a protective black e-coat, and the cylinder is fully rebuildable.
Key benefits
- Integral reservoir of 1.5 oz (approx. 44 ml) with screw cap, no separate tank needed
- Compact size, ideal for tight installations
- Rebuildable design: easy to fit with new seals later
- Die-cast aluminium with black e-coat against corrosion
- Internal bellows seal in the cap keeps moisture and dirt out
- Standard Wilwood outlet 3/8-24 for the brake line
- Suitable for brakes, hydraulic handbrake and clutch
Suitable for
Universal fitment
- Hydraulic handbrake with its own, independent brake circuit
- Pedal boxes with two or three cylinders (front/rear brake or clutch)
- Hydraulic clutch systems with a small swept volume
- Club sport, formula cars, drift and track cars and custom builds

Installation and delivery
The cylinder mounts with two bolts through the flange, the same way as other compact Wilwood cylinders. Connect the brake line to the 3/8-24 outlet. When choosing the bore, keep the ratio to your calipers in mind: a smaller bore such as 0.625 inch gives more pressure for less pedal effort, but needs more travel. Bleed the system thoroughly after installation. Lead time is 4 to 7 days, subject to supplier stock.

Why choose this GS Compact master cylinder?
Wilwood is one of the most widely used brands in motorsport for master cylinders and pedal boxes. The GS Compact series combines the trusted compact size with a new, rebuildable design and a better reservoir seal. You get a cylinder small enough for a tight pedal box that you can keep servicing for years.
Frequently asked questions
Is this cylinder suitable for a hydraulic handbrake?
Yes. The 0.625 inch GS Compact master cylinder is widely used for a hydraulic handbrake with its own, separate circuit to the rear calipers.
Do I need a separate reservoir?
No. The reservoir sits directly on the cylinder (integral). If you do want a separate reservoir, choose a remote version.
What is the difference from the classic Wilwood compact cylinder?
The GS series has a die-cast aluminium body with black e-coat, an internal bellows seal in the cap and is fully rebuildable. The stroke is 1.25 inch.
What is the lead time?
Lead time is 4 to 7 days, subject to supplier stock.
