Installation and delivery

The panel goes in the centre console of the E30, below the sliders and knobs of the heater. Fit the gauges in the three openings and route the wiring to the sensors and the lighting. Work with the battery disconnected and use a fuse in the power supply wire of the gauges.

Plan in advance which three values you want to see. On a turbo car, that is often boost pressure, oil pressure and oil or water temperature. On a naturally aspirated drift car, you are more likely to choose oil pressure, oil temperature and water temperature. Keep sensor lines away from hot parts and moving components.

Preferably choose gauges from the same series, so that the lighting and the dials match. Connect the lighting to the dashboard lighting circuit, so the gauges dim along with the rest of the interior. Test everything before you fix the panel in place for good, so you do not have to remove it again.

If you use the extra gauge panel in a track car, put the most important gauge in the middle. That way you notice abnormal oil pressure or temperature out of the corner of your eye, even when you are busy steering and changing gear.
