This BMW E30 IS splitter is an aluminium lip that you fit to the front of an IS front spoiler (also known as the IS Lippe) on the BMW E30. It sticks out just below the spoiler, gives the car a race look and makes the E30 look lower.

The IS spoiler is one of the most popular styling parts for the E30. If you already have one under your car, this splitter completes the picture: a clean, flat edge that follows the line of the spoiler and suits an E30 for the road, the track or drifting.

Installation and delivery

The BMW E30 IS splitter is fixed to the front of the IS spoiler. Mounting hardware and fitting instructions are not specified. In practice, you place the splitter against the underside of the spoiler, centre it and mark the holes. Carefully drill through the spoiler and use your own bolts with wide washers and lock nuts, so that the spoiler material does not crack. Check after a few drives that everything is still tight.

If you want the splitter in colour or matt black, degrease the aluminium thoroughly and use an adhesion primer before you spray it. Bare aluminium splitters are also popular on track cars.

If you drive a lowered E30, watch out for speed bumps, driveways and high kerbs. A BMW E30 IS splitter sticks out slightly further forward than the spoiler itself, so it is better to approach such obstacles at an angle. That way both the splitter and the IS spoiler stay intact for a long time.
