Installation and delivery

These reinforced BMW E90 engine mounts go in place of the original engine mounts. Support the engine with a jack or an engine support beam before you undo the old mounts, and do not lift the engine further than necessary, so that lines and hoses are not put under strain. Use the opportunity to check the gearbox mounts as well, because they are often just as worn.

Fit the new mounts, lower the engine again and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. A stiffer insert often transmits slightly more vibration into the interior than a sagged original mount; that is normal and a sign that the engine is held more firmly.
