BMW E46 Coupé 3/4 Door Panels

These E46 coupe half door panels are light aluminium panels that replace the lower part of the door trim of a BMW E46 coupé. They are so-called 3/4 panels: they cover the door below the original upper trim. Each one weighs 0.9 kg.

They are made for anyone who wants to make their E46 coupé lighter and sportier for drift or track use, without leaving the door bare. On laminate (composite) doors, the panels also add extra stiffness.

Installation and delivery

When fitting the E46 coupe half door panels, the upper part of the original door trim with the handle stays in place, as in the photos; the aluminium panel replaces the lower part. Hold the panel against the door, check how it lines up with the upper trim and mark the mounting points. The manufacturer leaves the fixing method up to you: rivets or self-tapping screws are recommended.

Pre-drill, deburr the holes and put a little sealant or foam tape between the door and the panel if you want to prevent rattles. Also check that the window mechanism and the door handle can still move freely.
