Installation and delivery

Installation is simple. You remove the original shift selector from the car and put the BMW ultra short shifter in its place. The connection to the gearbox runs only via the original shift rod. Because the shifter fits in the original tunnel, you can put the standard gear lever gaiter back over it and the interior looks tidy after fitting.

Work with the car safely on axle stands and the handbrake on. While dismantling, check the rubbers of the shift rod and the bearings straight away: play there makes the shorter throw less precise again. After installation, test all gears with the car stationary and the engine off before you go on the road.
