The AST Bolt-in Roll Cage BMW E30 Touring AWD V2 is a full roll cage for the all-wheel-drive BMW 3 Series (E30) with 5-door Touring bodywork, the 325iX. This Bolt-in E30 Touring AWD V2 is the V1 supplemented with front reinforcement bars that run all the way to the bulkhead.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for owners of an all-wheel-drive E30 Touring who want a noticeably more rigid chassis as well as protection.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell, after which the cage itself is bolted onto those plates. At the bulkhead, allow for the wiring and the additional pass-throughs the 325iX has there. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so it fits your car exactly.

The front bars of the AWD V2 connect the cage to the bulkhead and make the all-wheel-drive E30 Touring noticeably more rigid.

What is the difference from the AWD V1?

The Bolt-in E30 Touring AWD V2 has the same main hoop and backstays as the V1, but adds front reinforcement bars to the bulkhead. This gives extra torsional rigidity at the front.

Why a separate AWD version?

The all-wheel-drive E30, the 325iX, has a different floor layout and tunnel from the rear-wheel-drive E30 Touring. As a result, the foot plates sit in different positions and an RWD cage will not fit.

How is the cage mounted?

Six foot plates made of 3 mm steel are welded to the bodyshell. The cage itself is then secured to those foot plates with bolts, washers and nuts.
