Description
AST Bolt-in Roll Cage Nissan 280Z S30 Coupé V2
The Bolt-in 280Z Coupé V2 is a full roll cage for the Nissan 280Z with S30 chassis and 3-door coupé bodywork. On top of the base structure of the V1, it adds front reinforcement bars that continue to the bulkhead.
Like the rest of this range, the cage can be dismantled via FIA connecting sleeves and is built to FIA Appendix J. That makes it one of the few ways to build up a classic Z to a serious spec without irreversible welding in the interior.
Key benefits
- Front reinforcement bars to the bulkhead, integrating the nose into the structure.
- Removable via FIA connecting sleeves.
- Six bolting points on six welded 3 mm steel foot plates.
- Built to FIA Appendix J, with homologation numbers stated by the manufacturer.
- Noticeably more stable under hard braking and fast corner entry.
- E355 main hoop of 45 mm, remaining structure 40 mm.
- Designed in 3D for each chassis after a laser scan of the bodyshell.

Fitting and delivery
Allow 15 to 35 working days for delivery. The six foot plates are welded to the bodyshell, after which the cage is bolted onto them. Because the front bars run all the way to the bulkhead, the dashboard and trim have to come out beforehand. The laser scan and 3D design ensure that the tubes sit tight against the pillars.
Two tubes running forward make the difference between a cage that protects and a cage that genuinely makes the car drive better.
Why choose this Bolt-in 280Z Coupé V2 roll cage?
If safety is all you are after, the V1 already gets you a long way. This V2 is for the driver who also keeps an eye on lap times: tying the nose of the car to the cage makes the front end respond more directly to steering input and keeps the car calmer under braking. And you can still remove the cage later.
