Description
AST Bolt-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé V3
The Bolt-in PS13 V3 is a full roll cage for the Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé with six bolted mounting points, front reinforcement bars and door bars. It is the first version in the bolt-in range that also provides side protection.
Door bars are no luxury in drifting. Contact with the wall or with another car usually comes from the side, exactly where the door of a PS13 has little to offer. This version puts steel there, without you having to weld the cage permanently into the car.
Key benefits
- Door bars: side protection alongside the driver.
- Front reinforcement bars: the structure continues through to the bulkhead.
- Six bolting points: on six foot plates welded to the bodyshell.
- Removable: sleeve joints with FIA connectors, so the cage can come out of the car in sections.
- V-shaped rear structure: the rear section is laid out as a V.
- E355 steel: main hoop with a diameter of 45 mm, the rest of the structure 40 mm.
- Custom reinforcement plates: 3 mm thick steel, designed for each specific car rather than as a universal part.
- Exact fit: the bodyshell is digitised with laser scanners before the cage is designed in 3D.
Suitable for
Nissan Silvia PS13, 2-door coupé
- Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé, known in some markets as the 240SX coupé
- Type: full roll cage, bolt-in, version V3
- Drifting, track use and track days
This cage has been designed for the two-door coupé and does not fit the S13 hatchback. This version is anchored at the wheel arch and is made for a roof without a sunroof and without headlining. Bear in mind that door bars make getting in and out more difficult.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six base plates are welded to the bodyshell, after which the cage is bolted onto them in sections. For the door bars, the door cards have to come out, and you need to check that your seat and steering wheel position still work. Reassess your seating position as well: with door bars, space is tighter. This cage is intended for track and competition use; check the regulations of your own motorsport organisation beforehand.
With door bars added, the door of the PS13 finally becomes more than a thin piece of sheet metal.
Why choose this Bolt-in PS13 V3?
Anyone who gets serious about drifting will sooner or later make side contact with something hard. The V3 is the point in the bolt-in range where that scenario is taken seriously, with door bars alongside the driver and front bars to the bulkhead. Because it remains a bolted cage, you can take the structure out again later, for example if you convert or sell the car.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Bolt-in PS13 V3 add compared with the V2?
Door bars. The V2 does not have them, the V3 does. The rest of the construction is the same.
Can I still refit the original door card?
Usually not without modification. Expect to have to modify the trim or leave it out.
Is any welding required?
Yes, at the six base plates. The cage itself is bolted onto them and remains removable.
Is there a version with even more tubes?
Yes, the V4 from the same range adds an extra diagonal brace and a harness bar.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days, as AST builds every cage to order.
