Description
AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW 2002 V3
The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW 2002 V3 is a full roll cage for the BMW 2002 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Multipoint BMW 2002 V3 keeps the ten welded mounting points and front bars of the previous version and adds door bars in both doors.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who race their classic two-door BMW in competition and regard side protection as a minimum requirement.
Key benefits
- Door bars on the left and right between the door and the driver in a side impact.
- Ten welded mounting points that connect the structure to the bodyshell at more locations.
- Front section included, with bars running to the bulkhead.
- E355 steel, with a 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the remaining tubes.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Decide on the position of the bucket seat with your welder first, because the door bars reduce the space for getting in.
With ten welded mounting points plus door bars, the multipoint V3 is the most versatile choice for a BMW 2002 in competition use.
Why choose this Multipoint BMW 2002 V3 roll cage?
The 2002 is a narrow car, so the driver sits close to the door and side protection counts for a lot. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that the door bars run as tightly as possible along the panels while still leaving enough room to sit.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still get in and out normally?
It is tighter with the Multipoint BMW 2002 V3 than with the original interior, but still perfectly manageable. Many drivers replace the door cards with flat panels to gain extra room.
Is this roll cage FIA-homologated?
For this product, AST Roll Cages lists FIA homologation numbers 5258, 5331, 1550, 5445 and 1663 and states that the structure complies with FIA Appendix J for the BMW 2002, 2002 ti, 2002 tii and 2002 Turbo. If you compete in a different class, check the regulations of your own organiser.
