Description
AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E24 Coupé V1
The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E24 Coupé V1 is a full roll cage for the BMW 6 Series E24 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Multipoint E24 Coupé V1 has the basic layout with main hoop and braces, but is attached to the bodyshell at ten welded mounting points instead of eight.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want to spread the forces over more points in the bodyshell and want a more rigid overall structure than the standard weld-in cage offers.
Key benefits
- Ten welded mounting points: two extra attachment points distribute the load better across the bodyshell.
- More rigid than the standard weld-in cage: noticeably more resistant to deformation for the same version.
- E355 steel: main hoop with a diameter of 45 mm, rest of the structure 40 mm.
- Custom-made for each car: the E24 is first digitised with laser scanners.
- Foot plates in 3 mm steel: custom-designed for the mounting points of this car.
- Complete weld-in kit: gussets, reinforcement plates and mounting hardware included.
- Supplied unpainted: ready for your own surface preparation.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The two extra welded mounting points require additional preparation of the bodyshell, so expect more cleaning and fitting work than with a regular weld-in cage.
Ten welded mounting points instead of eight: the same basic shape, but the forces are distributed across more points in the bodyshell.
Why choose this Multipoint E24 Coupé V1 roll cage?
On a large, heavy coupé like the E24, every extra attachment point counts. Spreading the load over ten points instead of eight reduces the stress on the sheet metal at each point. This benefits both the rigidity and the service life of the bodyshell around the cage.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly does multipoint mean?
Multipoint refers to the number of welded mounting points. The Multipoint E24 Coupé V1 is welded to the bodyshell at ten points, whereas the standard weld-in cage uses eight. The rest of the construction and the scope of delivery are identical.
Is this roll cage FIA-approved?
AST states on its product page that this structure has been designed to FIA Appendix J for the BMW 633 CSi and 635 CSi. No homologation number is listed for this item, so always check the regulations of your own federation or sporting body before you enter an event.
What is the delivery time?
