The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E34 Saloon V2 is a full roll cage for the BMW 5 Series E34 with 4-door saloon bodywork. This Multipoint E34 Saloon V2 builds on the V1 and adds front reinforcement bars that run all the way to the bulkhead.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want the front end of their E34 to be just as stiff as the cabin.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly. Plan around the dashboard and wiring in advance: the front bars run all the way to the bulkhead.

The front bars tie the bulkhead into the structure, so the front end of the E34 flexes far less when you turn in hard.

Why choose this Multipoint E34 Saloon V2 roll cage?

On a car with the wheelbase of an E34, the load path between the front suspension and the main hoop is long. The front reinforcement bars make that path shorter and stiffer, so the car responds more directly to your steering corrections. Combined with the ten welded mounting points, this gives a noticeably more settled chassis than the V1.

What does the V2 add compared with the V1?

The Multipoint E34 Saloon V2 has the same main hoop with braces as the V1, plus front reinforcement bars that run through to the bulkhead. This makes the front end part of the structure as well.

Will this cage fit my E34 without modifications?

AST scans the bodyshell of this model with laser scanners and designs the cage around it in 3D, so that the tubes and reinforcement plates fall into place. The welding itself is still a job for a specialist.
