The AST Multipoint Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E46 Coupé V3 is a full roll cage for the BMW E46 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Multipoint E46 V3 has everything the V2 offers and adds door bars, permanently welded to the bodyshell at 10 points.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want side protection at door level as well as rigidity.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The door bars reduce the space for getting in and out, so measure beforehand whether your seat and steering wheel position still work. AST has digitised the bodyshell with laser scanners and designed the cage in 3D, so the door bars follow the actual shape of the door opening.

With the V3 you get everything from the V2 plus door bars, exactly where side impacts hit hardest.

Why choose this Multipoint E46 V3 roll cage?

Side contact is part and parcel of drifting and track use, and the door is simply the thinnest part of the car. The door bars in this version put tubing in that area without you having to change the basic layout. For many E46 drivers, this is the point at which the cage really feels complete.

Frequently asked questions

How much space do I lose because of the door bars?

That depends on your seat and seating position. The Multipoint E46 V3 follows the inner side of the door opening, but getting in requires noticeably more care than with the V2.

Does the door card have to come out?

The door bars run along the door card; whether the card can stay in place depends on your interior and choice of seat. Discuss this with your welder beforehand.

What is the delivery time?
