The AST Removable Half Roll Cage BMW E81 V1 is a half roll cage for the BMW 1 Series E81 with three-door hatchback bodywork. This removable half cage E81 V1 is the basic version: a main hoop behind the front seats with braces running rearwards, which stiffens and shields the rear compartment of the car.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who use their E81 on track days and drift days and want a safe, rigid rear structure without sacrificing the entire interior straight away.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Please note that the four foot plates are welded to the floor of the bodyshell before the cage is bolted onto them, so welding is part of the fitting process. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly.

Does this cage also fit an E82 or E87?

No. AST designs a separate cage for each body style, and the removable half cage E81 V1 is based on a scan of the three-door E81. The E82 coupé and the five-door E87 have different rooflines and mounting points, and therefore their own version.

What exactly will I receive?

You receive the welded structure in sections with connecting sleeves, the reinforcement plates, the bolts, washers and nuts, the documentation, fitting instructions and a sticker set. The cage is supplied unpainted.
