Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E21 Coupé V4 NASCAR door
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E21 Coupé V4 NASCAR Door Bars is a full roll cage for the BMW 3 Series E21 with 2-door coupé bodywork. This Weld-in E21 Coupé V4 NASCAR has the same layout as the regular V4, but the door is fitted with several curved tubes instead of the standard door bar.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drift and track drivers who want as much steel beside them as possible in the event of side contact.
Key benefits
- NASCAR door tubes: several curved tubes per door instead of a single straight door bar.
- More densely filled sides, exactly where contact occurs most often when drifting.
- Harness bar and extra diagonal brace from the V4 are still included.
- Eight welded mounting points make the cage a permanent part of the bodyshell.
- E355 steel, 45 mm for the main hoop and 40 mm for the rest of the structure.
- Laser scan of each bodyshell, so the curved tubes follow the door and you can still get in.
- Unpainted weld-in kit with gussets, reinforcement plates, mounting hardware, documentation and a sticker set.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so it fits your car exactly. Check the regulations of your own organiser or competition class beforehand, as not every class allows a NASCAR door bar version.
Where the standard V4 has one door bar, the NASCAR version fills the door of the E21 with several curved tubes.
Why choose this Weld-in E21 Coupé V4 NASCAR roll cage?
In drifting, the hit rarely comes straight from the front. Several curved tubes in the door spread a side impact over a larger area than a single bar, and you keep the harness bar and the complete front structure of the V4. In tandem drifting, that is the difference between carrying on and putting the car on the trailer.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly are NASCAR door bars?
Instead of the standard straight door bar, the door has several curved tubes that together shield the side of the interior.
Does that make it harder to get in?
Yes, more tubes means a tighter entry. AST designs the tube pattern based on the laser scan of the E21 Coupé, so the tubes stay as close to the door as possible.
What is the delivery time?
