The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E28 Saloon V5 is a full roll cage for the BMW 5 Series E28 with 4-door saloon bodywork. This Weld-in E28 Saloon V5 is the highest specification level in the range and comes with the complete set of bars.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for teams turning an E28 from the 1981 to 1988 model years into a fully fledged competition car without compromising on rigidity.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly. Allow for a good many hours of welding, as this version has the most tubes in the range.

The V5 comes with the complete set of bars instead of just part of it. Material, welded mounting points and delivery are the same; the difference lies in the number of tubes and therefore in the rigidity of the structure as a whole.

Is this roll cage FIA-homologated?

AST Roll Cages lists FIA homologation number 5006 for this product. According to AST, this homologation applies to the BMW 528i. If you drive a different engine variant of the E28, do not assume that your car is covered and check with your own sporting organisation.
