Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E30 Touring AWD V5 NASCAR door
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E30 Touring AWD V5 NASCAR Door Bars is a full roll cage for the BMW 3 Series E30 with 5-door Touring bodywork. This Weld-in E30 Touring AWD V5 NASCAR combines the complete set of bars with several curved tubes in the door, and has been measured for the all-wheel-drive E30 (325iX); this cage does not fit a rear-wheel-drive E30.
The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who are turning their 325iX Touring into a fully fledged competition car and do not want to schedule a second round of welding for it.
Key benefits
- The complete package: the full set of bars of the V5 combined with the NASCAR door bar version.
- NASCAR door bars: several curved tubes fill the door instead of the standard door bar.
- Maximum body rigidity: the long Touring is encased in a steel skeleton along its full length.
- Harness bar and diagonals: fixed harness mounting points and a frame that stays square under load.
- Eight welded mounting points: permanently welded, on 3 mm reinforcement plates.
- Exclusively for the 325iX: scanned on the all-wheel-drive E30 Touring.
- E355 steel: 45 mm main hoop and 40 mm for the rest of the structure.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. This is the most invasive version: the dashboard, door cards, trim and rear seats come out and do not go back in. Book the work in with a workshop experienced in welding in roll cages; fitting is permanent.
Everything AST can build for the 325iX Touring is in this one cage.
Why choose this Weld-in E30 Touring AWD V5 NASCAR roll cage?
Stripping a car twice for welding costs more time and money than getting it right first time. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so even this densely packed version drops into the car without modification. For a 325iX Touring used at competition level, this is the top of the range.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have this cage welded into a rear-wheel-drive E30 Touring?
No. The Weld-in E30 Touring AWD V5 NASCAR is designed exclusively for the all-wheel-drive E30 325iX Touring. Because of the driveline to the front axle, the floor and transmission tunnel have a different shape, so the eight welded mounting points and the foot plates do not line up on a rear-wheel-drive E30.
How do NASCAR door bars differ from a standard door bar?
Instead of a single straight bar, there are several curved tubes in the door. They fill a larger part of the door area, so the energy of a side impact is spread over more steel. The door card cannot be refitted afterwards.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.
