The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E36 Saloon V5 is a full roll cage for the BMW E36 with 4-door saloon bodywork. This Weld-in Saloon V5 is the most comprehensive version in the range, with the full set of reinforcement bars, and is permanently welded to the bodyshell at 8 points.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers who want to build their E36 saloon up to the highest level in one go and never have to weld anything on later.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. AST digitises the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so that it fits your car exactly. Because of the larger number of bars, welding it in takes more time than with the lighter versions, so plan for a fully stripped car and an experienced welder.

Everything included: the V5 leaves nothing out and is the most substantial version in this range.

What makes the V5 more complete than the V4?

The Weld-in Saloon V5 has the full set of reinforcement bars, whereas the V4 stops at the extra diagonal bars and harness bars. You therefore get more tubes supporting the bodyshell at more points.

Is this too much cage for a road car?

This version is intended for drifting, track and rally use. For a car that is mainly used on the road, a lighter version from the same range is usually more practical.

What steel is the cage made of?

The main hoop is made of E355 steel with a diameter of 45 mm, and the rest of the structure of E355 steel with a diameter of 40 mm. The foot plates and reinforcement plates are 3 mm thick and custom-designed for each car.
