The AST Weld-in Roll Cage BMW E36 Touring V3 is a full roll cage for the BMW E36 with 5-door Touring bodywork. This Weld-in Touring V3 carries over the complete layout of the V2 and adds door bars, so there is also side protection in the door opening. The cage is permanently welded in at 8 mounting points.

The cage is designed and built by AST Roll Cages in Spain, for drivers competing in events where protection against side impacts is a strict requirement.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. Bear in mind that the door bars run through the door opening, so the interior has to be cleared in that area before you start welding. AST scans the bodyshell with laser scanners and designs the cage in 3D, so the door bars sit exactly in the Touring’s door opening. If you want more welded mounting points, the multipoint version with 10 welded mounting points is the alternative.

With the door bars of the V3, there is finally steel between the driver and the door.

Not entirely. Because the door bars run through the door opening, the door card and interior trim have to be modified or removed.

What exactly will I receive?

You get the unpainted weld-in kit with gussets and reinforcement plates in 3 mm steel, bolts, washers and nuts, documentation, the fitting instructions and a sticker set. The main hoop is E355 steel with a diameter of 45 mm, the rest of the structure E355 steel with a diameter of 40 mm.
