Description

AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan 350Z Z33 Coupé V5 NASCAR door

The Weld-in 350Z V5 NASCAR is a full roll cage for the Nissan 350Z with the Z33 chassis in 3-door coupé bodywork, and the most comprehensive 8-point weld-in cage that AST supplies for this car. You get the complete set of bars, supplemented with NASCAR door bars in both doors.

Instead of one straight tube per door, there are several curved tubes that shield the side over a larger area. AST expressly specifies this version for drift use.

The cage arrives as a weld-in kit, with tubes bent to size, gussets and reinforcement plates in 3 mm steel.

Fitting and delivery

The cage is built to order, with a delivery time of 15 to 35 working days. This is a labour-intensive build: lots of tubes, little clearance and NASCAR door bars that fill almost the entire door opening. Strip the interior completely, settle on your seating position and have the welding carried out by a fabricator with roll cage experience. In practice, the door cards do not go back in with this version.

The complete set of bars, with doors built for contact.

Why choose this Weld-in 350Z V5 NASCAR roll cage?

Anyone tandem drifting at the highest level combines two things that reinforce each other: a bodyshell that no longer flexes, and doors that can take a hit. This version offers both in a single package, without you having to have tubes added later. It is the most expensive weld-in cage in the range, but also the one you will never need to add anything to.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference from the standard V5 weld-in cage?

This Weld-in 350Z V5 NASCAR has NASCAR door bars, i.e. several curved tubes per door, whereas the standard V5 has one straight door bar per side. The rest of the package is identical.

Why should I choose NASCAR door bars?

They spread a side impact over a larger area of the door opening. In drifting, where contact with the wall or another car is common, that is exactly where you need protection most.

Can I still get in comfortably?

No, it becomes considerably more awkward. Expect a bucket seat and a door opening largely filled with tubes.

Will the cage fit a car with a sunroof?

No. This version is designed for a roof without a sunroof and without headlining.

Is this roll cage homologated?

AST does not state a homologation number for this item. The cage is intended for track and competition use; always check your own organiser’s regulations before you enter an event.

What is the delivery time?

The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days.

Delivery outside the European Union: different shipping costs may apply. Don’t worry: we will email you as soon as possible after your order and agree the shipping with you. You are not committed to anything without your consent.
