Description
AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé V5 NASCAR door
The AST Weld-in Roll Cage Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé V5 NASCAR Door Bars is a full roll cage that is welded into the two-door Nissan Silvia PS13 at eight points, with the full set of bars and NASCAR door bars. This Weld-in PS13 V5 NASCAR is the most comprehensively equipped eight-point weld-in cage for this model and is designated by AST as a drift version.
Here you combine two things: the complete structure of the V5, which ties in the roof, bulkhead and rear section, and several curved tubes in the door instead of a single straight door bar.
Key benefits
- Full set of bars plus NASCAR doors: the most comprehensively equipped eight-point weld-in cage for this model.
- Maximum side protection: several curved tubes reaching deep into the door.
- Eight welded mounting points: the cage is permanently welded to the bodyshell.
- Designated by AST as a drift version: designed specifically for drift use.
- E355 steel: main hoop with a diameter of 45 mm, the rest of the structure 40 mm.
- Custom reinforcement plates: 3 mm thick steel, designed for each specific car rather than as a universal part.
- Exact fit: the bodyshell is digitised with laser scanners before the cage is designed in 3D.
- Complete weld-in kit: includes gussets, mounting hardware, documentation, fitting instructions, a sticker set and a T-joint weld sample.
Suitable for
Nissan Silvia PS13, 2-door coupé
- Nissan Silvia PS13 Coupé, also known as the 240SX coupé
- Type: full roll cage, weld-in, version V5 with NASCAR door bars
- Drifting first and foremost, as well as track and competition
This is not a cage for a car that still sees road use. Most of the interior comes out, the door cards no longer fit and getting in and out becomes a chore. AST designs separate cages for the two-door PS13 coupé and the three-door S13 hatchback; this one fits the coupé.

Fitting and delivery
The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The weld-in kit is assembled in the car and welded in place, and with this version that means the most work of the entire eight-point range. The interior must be completely stripped and the doors open before the door tubes can be fitted. Measure beforehand whether your seating position and helmet still clear the tubes in the door. This cage is intended for track and competition use; check the regulations of your own sporting organisation beforehand, as not every class allows NASCAR door bars.
The complete structure of the V5 with several tubes in the door: the most comprehensive specification AST offers for the PS13 coupé with eight welded mounting points.
Why choose this Weld-in PS13 V5 NASCAR?
Anyone building a PS13 into a serious drift car does not want to start on the cage twice. This version combines maximum structure with maximum side protection, so you will not need to weld anything extra on later. The full set of bars keeps a thirty-year-old bodyshell rigid, while the NASCAR door bars absorb the knocks that inevitably come from the side in drifting.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference from the regular V5?
Only the doors. The Weld-in PS13 V5 NASCAR has several curved tubes in the door instead of the standard door bar. The weight rises from 59 to 65 kg; the number of welded mounting points stays at eight.
What is the difference from the V4 NASCAR?
The V5 has the full set of bars, while the V4 stops at door bars plus an extra diagonal brace and harness bar. The weight goes from 58 to 65 kg.
Does this cage also fit the three-door S13 hatchback?
No. AST designs a separate range for the hatchback. This cage is made for the two-door coupé.
Can this cage be removed later?
No, it is permanently welded to the bodyshell. For a removable solution, look at the half cage or the bolt-in range.
What is the delivery time?
The standard delivery time for this roll cage is 15 to 35 working days, as AST builds every cage to order.
