The AST Bolt-in Roll Cage Toyota MR2 W30 2-door Roadster V4 is a full roll cage for the Toyota MR2 W30 with two-door roadster body, bolted in at six points. This Bolt-in Roll Cage MR2 W30 V4 is supplied in sections with FIA sleeve connections and assembled in the car, so it can come out again later.

The difference with the lighter-built bolted range lies in the construction: here AST uses FIA sleeve connections and a heavier build. The V4 is the heaviest bolt-in for the Toyota MR2 W30, with a V-shaped rear structure and the most tubing of the range.

Installation and delivery

The cage is built to order; the standard delivery time is 15 to 35 working days. The six base plates are welded to the body, then the cage is assembled in sections and bolted down. So welding is still required, but it is considerably less work than a complete weld-in cage. On a Toyota MR2 W30 of this age, check beforehand that the mounting areas are free of rust: welding onto corroded panels gives a cage that will not do its job in a crash. Re-tighten the bolted joints after the first drives and regularly after that, because a bolt that has worked loose takes the strength out of the structure.
