This ZR coilover kit S13 is the most adjustable kit BC Racing offers for the S13-based Nissan Silvia, 180SX, 200SX and 240SX. Where the BR and DS series control compression and rebound with a single knob, the ZR series splits the damping into three ranges: 30 clicks of rebound damping, 20 clicks of low-speed compression damping and 12 clicks of high-speed compression damping.

This lets you set separately how the car rolls on turn-in and how it reacts to kerbs and poor tarmac. For drifters and circuit drivers who set up for each track, that is the difference between a kit that is roughly right and a kit that does exactly what you ask.

Each damper works with a digressive piston, a dual-piston design and an external reservoir filled with fully synthetic oil. That reservoir increases the oil volume and dissipates heat, so the damping remains stable during long sessions.

Fitting and delivery

The kit replaces the original struts and dampers all round. Allow a full day’s work: the external reservoirs have to be mounted neatly and the lines must not rub or get trapped anywhere at full suspension travel. Always have the wheel alignment checked afterwards, as the ride height changes. Delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If the kit is temporarily out of stock, you can still order and we will let you know when it arrives.

What is the difference from the BR and DS series?

With the BR and DS series, you adjust compression and rebound together with one knob, in 30 clicks. This ZR coilover kit S13 splits that into three ranges, so you adjust rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression independently of each other. It is intended for those who genuinely set up for each track.

Does this kit also fit a 180SX or a Cefiro A31?

Yes. BC Racing approves this kit for the S13-based Silvia, 180SX, 200SX and 240SX and for the Cefiro A31 from the same period.

Is this kit suitable for daily road use?

It is a track-focused kit. It is perfectly drivable on the road, but the pillowball and camber plates transmit more noise and vibration than rubber top mounts. BC Racing also excludes noise from track-focused series from the warranty.

Can I get a different spring rate?

BC Racing supplies alternative spring rates for many applications. If you want something other than 6/4 kg/mm, please contact us and we will look into the options and the delivery time for you.
