The BC Racing DS coilover kit Skyline R33 (part number D-16-DS-DS) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the Nissan Skyline R33 GTS and GTS-t with rear-wheel drive (ECR33), Coupe and Sedan, model years 1993 to 1998. The spring rate is 8 kg/mm front and 5 kg/mm rear.

BC Racing supplies the DS for the rear-wheel drive R33 GTS in two versions; this one has rubber top mounts at the front and rubber or the original mounting at the rear. The DS series is aimed at the track: a monotube damper with a digressive piston, 30 clicks and a satin chrome damper body. A good choice for an R33 GTS-t that is driven both on the road and on track.

No. This kit is only for the R33 GTS and GTS-t with rear-wheel drive (ECR33), Coupe and Sedan. The GT-R R33 and the GTS-4 with four-wheel drive are excluded; for the GT-R R33, BC Racing has kits with part numbers starting with D-08.

Which BC Racing DS kit does the Skyline R33 GTS need: rubber or pillowball?

Both are made for the rear-wheel drive R33 GTS and GTS-t; it is a matter of choice. This DS coilover kit Skyline R33 (D-16-DS-DS) has rubber top mounts at the front, the D-16-DS-DA a pillowball or camber plate at the front. The damper and springs (8/5 kg/mm) are the same. With the pillowball version, a small modification to the upper mounting may be needed on some cars.

What is the difference between the BC Racing DS and ER for the Skyline R33 GTS?

The DS is 1-way adjustable, the ER 2-way with an external reservoir. On the DS you adjust compression and rebound together in 30 clicks; on the ER you set them independently of each other, each in 30 clicks. For the R33 GTS, the ER has springs of 9/7 kg/mm, the DS 8/5 kg/mm.
