The MTS Street Audi 80 B1 Inox is a height-adjustable weld-in insert kit (coilover) from MTS Technik for the Audi 80 B1, model years 1972 to 1978. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness.

On the Inox version, the damper bodies are made of stainless steel, so road salt and moisture don’t stand a chance. This is a weld-in insert kit: the original front struts are shortened and welded.

Fitting and delivery

To fit the MTS Street Audi 80 B1 Inox, the original front struts are shortened and welded as described in the manual. Have this done by an experienced mechanic or welder.

• The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
• When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
• After fitting the MTS Street Audi 80 B1 Inox, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

Yes. With this weld-in insert kit, your original struts are shortened and welded as described in the manual. If you don’t want to weld yourself, check whether a send-in kit exists for your car: with that, MTS Technik does the welding.
