The MTS Street E32 Inox is a height-adjustable weld-in insert kit (coilover) from MTS Technik for the BMW E32, model years 1985 to 1994. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness.

On the Inox version, the damper bodies are made of stainless steel, so road salt and moisture don’t stand a chance. This is a weld-in insert kit: the original front struts are shortened and welded.

Fitting and delivery

To fit the MTS Street E32 Inox, the original front struts are shortened and welded as described in the manual. Have this done by an experienced mechanic or welder.

• The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
• When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
• Cars with NIVO require additional original parts for the rear axle: 2x upper mounting (33521132088) and 4x MTS ring 303202060.
• After fitting the MTS Street E32 Inox, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

What is the difference between Gold and Inox?

Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.

Do the struts really have to be welded?

Yes. With this weld-in insert kit, your original struts are shortened and welded as described in the manual. If you don’t want to weld yourself, check whether a send-in kit exists for your car: with that, MTS Technik does the welding.
