The MTS Street G20 Gold is a height-adjustable coilover kit from MTS Technik for the BMW 2-series (G42), 3-series (G20) and 4-series (G22), from model year 2018. Street is the standard setup from MTS Technik: a good balance between comfort and firmness, for daily use and the occasional track day or drift day.

On the Gold version, the steel parts have a yellow zinc coating and the aluminium parts are black anodised.

Note for the MTS Street G20 Gold: not suitable for versions with four-wheel drive (xDrive). Only for cars without level control (NIVO) or factory air suspension. Axle load: maximum 1030 kg front and maximum 1245 kg rear; check your car’s vehicle type plate.

Fitting is also possible on cars with electronically adjustable damping; that system must then be disabled.

Fitting and delivery

The MTS Street G20 Gold replaces the original dampers and springs and fits on the original mounting points.

• The stated lowering applies relative to the standard suspension. If the car has a factory sport suspension, the lowering will be smaller.
• When fitting, check the clearance between tyre or wheel and the strut: at least 5 mm. If it is less, use approved wheel spacers.
• Tip for adjusting the rear: remove the height adjuster, set the spring seat to the new position and refit the adjuster.
• After lowering, have the wheel alignment checked, because camber and toe change as well.

The MTS Street G20 Gold combines zinc-plated damper bodies, Eibach springs of 30-45 and 120 N/mm and up to 60 mm of lowering for the BMW 2 Series (G42), 3 Series (G20) and 4 Series (G22).

The Gold version is the most affordable way to get an MTS Technik coilover kit, with a zinc coating that protects well against rust. If you also drive in winter, take a look at the Inox version with stainless steel damper bodies. With the included camber plates you set the camber, which with a large lowering means less tyre wear and more grip.

Frequently asked questions

Does this kit also fit a four-wheel-drive (xDrive) version?

No. The MTS Street G20 Gold is made for the rear-wheel-drive versions. MTS Technik has separate kits for the xDrive versions.

What is the difference between Gold and Inox?

Gold has steel damper bodies with a yellow zinc coating, Inox has stainless steel damper bodies. Inox is more resistant to road salt and moisture and therefore costs more. Otherwise, the kits are identical.

How long does delivery take?

The MTS Street G20 Gold is delivered within 4 to 7 working days as long as the manufacturer has stock.
