The BC Racing BR coilover kit E46 Convertible (part number I-90-BR-RA) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 3 Series E46 Convertible, model years 1998 to 2006. The spring rate is 6 kg/mm front and 8 kg/mm rear.
It is BC Racing’s all-round coilover kit, made for anyone who drives their E46 every day and occasionally takes it to a track day or autocross.
The BR series works with monotube dampers and a linear piston. You set the damping in 30 clicks, with compression and rebound adjusting together. The ride height is fully adjustable and independent of the spring preload, so you choose how low the car sits without turning the springs. The spring rate is 6/8 kg/mm.
Pay close attention to the body style. BC Racing only releases this kit (part number I-90) for the E46 Convertible. For the E46 Sedan, Coupe, Touring and Compact there is the kit with part number I-02.

Fitting and delivery
The kit replaces the original suspension all round. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. No. BC Racing only releases this kit for the E46 Convertible. For the Sedan, Coupe, Touring and Compact there is the I-02.
What is the difference between the BC Racing BR and DS for the BMW E46 Convertible?
The BR coilover kit E46 Convertible has a linear piston and is aimed at the road with the occasional track day, while the DS has a digressive piston that damps more firmly during slow body movements and is clearly more track-oriented.
What does True Rear mean for other BC Racing kits for the BMW E46?
With a True Rear version, the rear becomes a complete strut with the spring around the damper, just like the front; from the factory the E46 has a separate spring and a separate damper at the rear. BC Racing offers that version for the E46 Sedan, Coupe and Touring under its own part number (I-31). There is no True Rear kit for the Convertible.
