BMW E46 4-Point X-Brace Rear, Strut Brace

The E46 4 point X brace is an extended strut brace for the rear of the BMW E46 coupé, saloon and Touring. It is attached to the strut towers and runs crosswise to the rear subframe mount. This makes the rear end stiffer and gives the subframe points extra support, which benefits handling and safety.

If you drift, go on track or simply drive with a lot of power, an E46 4 point X brace is a logical step to strengthen the area around the rear subframe mount. On an older road car with high mileage, too, it gives the body around the rear axle extra support.

Installation and delivery

For installation, you cut holes in the boot floor at the subframe mount locations, where the feet of the brace go. The top is secured to the strut towers. The photos in the gallery show what that looks like, and the bolts are included.

Measure carefully first and treat the cut edges against rust. Retighten all bolts after the first day of driving.
