The BC Racing BR coilover kit E87 True Rear (part number I-169-BR-RH) is a coilover kit adjustable in height and damping, also simply called a coilover, for the BMW 1 Series E81 and E87, model years 2004 to 2013, in the True Rear version. The spring rate is 5.5 kg/mm front and 6 kg/mm rear.

With this True Rear kit from BC Racing, the 1 Series E87 also gets a strut at the rear with the spring around the damper, instead of the separate spring and damper fitted at the factory. The BR series makes the kit suitable for the road, with room for a track day or autocross.

Front and rear there are pillowball top mounts or camber plates. The monotube dampers have a linear piston and 30-click damping adjustment, and you set the ride height independently of the spring preload. The spring rate is 5.5 kg/mm front and 6 kg/mm rear.

Fitting and delivery

The kit is vehicle-specific and replaces the original dampers and springs front and rear. We recommend having it fitted by an experienced mechanic. Please note: BC Racing specifies that with a True Rear kit the body shell must be reinforced before fitting. After setting the ride height, a wheel alignment is part of the job, because camber and toe change as well. The delivery time is 1 to 2 weeks as long as the manufacturer has stock. If the manufacturer is temporarily out of stock, you can still order and we will let you know when it is coming.
