BMW E8x / E9x / X1 E84 V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 365 mm 6-piston

The big brake kit E90 365 mm is the largest version in the V-Maxx range of 330, 355 and 365 mm kits for the BMW 3 Series E90, E91, E92 and E93, and it also fits the more powerful 1 Series E8x and the X1 E84. The front axle gets 365 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, complete with sport brake pads and adapters.

Choose this kit if your car already runs on 19 inch wheels and you want as much braking performance as possible for track work, track days or a heavily modified road car. The larger disc gives more leverage and therefore more braking torque, while all that aluminium sheds heat quickly. As a result, the braking behaviour stays stable even after a long session.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer and holds a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 for this kit, so you are also allowed to drive it on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Take your time with the fitting and install the big brake kit E90 365 mm according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions. The kit is only suitable for cars with original steering knuckles. Do not use wheel cleaner on the calipers and bells, as it attacks the aluminium; a mild soap is sufficient.

Available as options: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml) and the V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Why choose this big brake kit E90 365?

On the track, everything revolves around consistent braking. This kit combines the largest disc in the E9x range with six pistons and plenty of aluminium: that material conducts heat about five times better than steel, so the caliper, bracket and bell cool down quickly. The directional cooling channels in the disc draw the heat outwards. As a result, the pedal keeps the same feel, even when you put the big brake kit E90 365 mm under heavy load time after time.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the 365 and the 355 mm kit?

The big brake kit E90 365 mm has a larger disc than the 355 mm kit and therefore more braking torque, but it requires wheels of at least 19 inch. The 355 mm kit fits the same cars and already works with wheels from 18 inch.

Is the big brake kit E90 365 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. An E9x with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 365 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.

Does V-Maxx also offer a kit for the rear axle?

No. V-Maxx only supplies kits for the front axle; that is where about 90% of the braking power comes from.

Does the kit fit behind my wheels?

You need wheels of at least 19 inch. Always check the fitment template (WFC); a wheel spacer is sometimes required to give the wheel enough clearance.
