Audi A3 8P V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 330 mm 4-piston

This big brake kit A3 8P is the 330 mm version from V-Maxx for the second-generation Audi A3: 330 mm two-piece brake discs and 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium for the front axle. The kit fits the A3, the A3 Sportback and the A3 Convertible and comes complete, including sport brake pads and vehicle-specific adapters.

For spirited driving and track days, the 8P is better equipped with this kit than with the original brakes. The larger discs give more braking torque, while the aluminium caliper, bracket and bell dissipate the heat quickly. The result is a braking system that keeps performing consistently, even after a series of hard stops.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 and is therefore approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied with it, and use the tightening torques stated in those instructions. The kit is suitable for cars with original steering knuckles. For cleaning, use a mild soap and no wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

You can extend the kit with V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2, with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval), Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml), a V-Maxx wear indicator set, a different caliper colour (black, blue or yellow, at extra cost) and an extra set of Ferodo FDSR216 DS Performance brake pads without TÜV approval. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

Which V-Maxx kit do I need for my A3 8P?

V-Maxx has three kits for the A3 8P. This big brake kit A3 8P (20 AU330 04) has 330 mm discs with 4-piston calipers and fits wheels from 17 inch. The 20 AU355 05 (355 mm) and the 20 AU365 05 (365 mm) have 6-piston calipers, require wheels of at least 18 or 19 inch and only fit versions with Ø55 mm front shock absorbers. Check the application list of each kit to see which versions it covers.

Does the big brake kit A3 8P fit behind my wheels?

You need wheels of at least 17 inch. Check with the fitment template (WFC) whether the caliper clears the wheel; with some wheels a wheel spacer is required.

Is it normal for the brake pads to click?

Yes. The pads deliberately have 1 to 1.5 mm of play so that they do not seize at high temperatures. As a result, they click briefly when you change between driving forwards and reversing.
