Description
Volkswagen Golf 6 V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 365 mm 6-piston
The big brake kit Golf 6 365 mm from V-Maxx gives the Golf VI the largest disc diameter in the V-Maxx range: 365 mm two-piece brake discs with 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium on the front axle.
The larger disc increases braking torque, and the aluminium calipers, brackets and bells dissipate the heat much faster than the original brakes. You notice this above all under repeated hard braking on the track: the braking power stays consistent, with much less fade.
The kit is intended for the Golf VI from 48 to 199 kW with a steel steering knuckle, Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp and original rear brake discs of at least Ø271 mm. V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer; you get a 2-year warranty and a TÜV certificate according to §19.3.
Key benefits
- 365 mm discs: the largest V-Maxx version for the Golf VI
- 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium
- Floating aluminium bells under two-piece, grooved discs made of high-carbon steel
- Directional cooling channels in the discs for fast heat dissipation
- Consistent braking behaviour with much less fade under repeated hard braking
- Ready to fit: V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and adapters for the original rubber brake hoses
- TÜV §19.3, also valid with an officially approved power upgrade
Suitable for
Volkswagen Golf VI (1K) with Ø55 mm front shock absorbers, 2008 to 2014
- Golf VI (1K), 10-2008 to 12-2014: all versions from 48 to 199 kW
- Only for cars with a steel steering knuckle and Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp
- Only for cars with original rear brake discs of at least Ø271 mm
Minimum wheel size: 19 inch. Check with the fitment template (WFC, Wheel Fitment Chart) whether your wheels clear the caliper; in some cases a wheel spacer is required.

Fitting and delivery
Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The kit only fits cars with original steering knuckles, in this case the steel steering knuckle with Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp. Clean the brake kit only with a mild soap and do not use wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.
Available options: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.
For a Golf VI on 19 inch wheels, this is the V-Maxx kit with the largest disc: 365 mm and six pistons per caliper.
Why choose this big brake kit Golf 6 365?
The big brake kit Golf 6 365 mm is the choice for drivers who run 19 inch or larger wheels and want the largest disc. The extra braking torque of the 365 mm disc goes hand in hand with the thermal management of a V-Maxx kit: aluminium conducts heat about 5 times better than steel, and the caliper, bracket and bell are all made of aluminium. As a result, the kit cools down much faster and you keep braking consistently under repeated hard braking.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the 355 and 365 mm kit?
The big brake kit Golf 6 365 mm has a larger disc than the 355 mm kit (20 VW355 08) and therefore more braking torque, but requires wheels of at least 19 inch. Both kits have 6-piston calipers and fit the same Golf VI versions; the 355 mm kit already fits from 18 inch.
Does the kit fit behind my wheels?
The kit requires wheels of at least 19 inch. Check the clearance with the fitment template (WFC); a wheel spacer is sometimes required.
Is the big brake kit Golf 6 365 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?
Yes, definitely. A Golf VI with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 365 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.
Can I use this kit on the road?
Yes. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 and is therefore approved for use on public roads.
What is the delivery time?
The delivery time is 4 to 7 days.
