This big brake kit Golf 7 355 mm from V-Maxx is the 6-piston kit for the Golf VII and Golf VII Variant with aluminium steering knuckle: 355 mm two-piece brake discs with 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, complete with sport brake pads and vehicle-specific adapters.

The kit fits all versions from 77 to 228 kW with Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp and original brake discs of at least Ø288 mm at the front and Ø271 mm at the rear. On the track, that gives more braking power and much less fade under repeated hard braking.

V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer and gives a 2-year warranty. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 and is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The kit is only suitable for cars with original steering knuckles, here the aluminium steering knuckle with Ø55 mm clamp. Clean the brake kit with a mild soap and not with wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Optionally available: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

The big brake kit Golf 7 355 mm is the step up from the 330 mm kits for the Golf VII. You get six pistons per caliper and a larger disc, while the minimum wheel size of 18 inch stays one size smaller than with the 365 mm version. Because the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, which conducts heat about 5 times better than steel, the kit cools down much faster and the braking power stays consistent under repeated hard braking.

What is the difference between the 355 and 365 mm kit?

Both kits have 6-piston calipers and fit the same Golf VII versions with aluminium steering knuckle. The 365 mm kit (20 VW365 02) has a larger disc and requires wheels of at least 19 inch; the big brake kit Golf 7 355 mm already fits from 18 inch.

Which version do I need?

First look at the steering knuckle. This 6-piston kit is for the Golf VII with aluminium steering knuckle and Ø55 mm clamp. With 17 inch wheels, choose a 330 mm kit: the 20 VW330 11 for the aluminium steering knuckle or the 20 VW330 10 for the steel steering knuckle.

Is the big brake kit Golf 7 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?

Yes, definitely. A Golf VII with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.
