The big brake kit Kia Rio 290 mm is the compact V-Maxx front brake kit for the Kia Rio (UB/UBG) from model years 09-2011 to 01-2017. It combines 290 mm two-piece brake discs with 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium and fits wheels from 15 inch upwards.

For the Rio (UB), V-Maxx makes two kits: this 290 mm version and a 330 mm kit for wheels from 17 inch. Both give more braking power and consistent braking under repeated hard braking. The difference lies in the disc size and the minimum wheel size, which means this kit lets you keep using smaller wheels.

The kit comes ready to fit with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters for the original rubber brake hoses. V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer, gives a 2-year warranty and has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 for this kit, which means it is approved for use on public roads.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied. The big brake kit Kia Rio 290 mm is only suitable for a Rio with original steering knuckles. Clean the brake kit with a mild soap and do not use wheel cleaner, as it attacks the aluminium. For heavy track use, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.

Options: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (500 mm, set of 2) with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, Ferodo brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

There are two V-Maxx kits for the Rio (UB/UBG). This big brake kit Kia Rio 290 mm (20 KI290 03) requires wheels of at least 15 inch. The 20 KI330 03 kit has 330 mm discs and requires at least 17 inch. Both kits have 4-piston calipers made of forged aluminium and TÜV approval.

Is the big brake kit Kia Rio 290 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?
