Description
Volkswagen Tiguan AD V-Maxx Big Brake Kit 355 mm 6-piston
This big brake kit Tiguan AD 355 mm consists of 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium, made for the front axle of the Volkswagen Tiguan II (AD). You get the kit ready to fit, with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and adapters for the original brake hoses.
With outputs of up to 228 kW, the Tiguan II demands a lot from its brakes, especially under repeated hard braking. The V-Maxx kit is built for exactly that: aluminium calipers, brackets and bells dissipate heat quickly, the discs have directional cooling channels and six pistons per caliper provide more braking power.
V-Maxx Autosport is a Dutch manufacturer. The kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3, which means it is approved for use on public roads, and it is covered by a 2-year warranty.
Key benefits
- More braking power thanks to 355 mm discs and six pistons per caliper
- Aluminium where it counts: the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium, which conducts heat about five times better than steel
- Less fade during a series of hard stops in quick succession
- Two-piece discs made of high-carbon steel, with grooves and directional cooling channels
- Floating bells made of ultralight aluminium
- Ready to fit: including V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and vehicle-specific adapters
- Approved for road use with the TÜV certificate according to §19.3
- Dutch manufacturer with a 2-year warranty
Suitable for
Volkswagen Tiguan II (AD), 2016 to 2024
- Tiguan II (AD) with Ø55 mm front shock absorbers, 01-2016 to 01-2024: versions from 77 to 228 kW
- Original brake discs of at least Ø288 mm at the front and Ø271 mm at the rear are required
- The car must have an aluminium knuckle with a Ø55 mm shock absorber clamp
Minimum wheel size: 18 inch. Check in advance with the fitment template (WFC, Wheel Fitment Chart) whether the caliper fits inside your wheel; some wheels require a wheel spacer.

Fitting and delivery
Fit the big brake kit Tiguan AD 355 mm according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and observe the tightening torques stated in them. The kit is only suitable for cars with original steering knuckles. Wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium and therefore does not belong on the brake kit; clean it with a mild soap. If you use the car hard on the track, V-Maxx recommends removing the dust seals from the calipers.
Optionally available: V-Maxx Steelflex brake hoses for the front axle in 620 mm (set of 2), with PTFE inner hose and TÜV approval, plus Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.
Up to 228 kW calls for brakes that do not fade away under repeated hard braking; that is what this V-Maxx kit is made for.
Why choose this big brake kit Tiguan AD 355 mm?
A larger disc on its own is not enough; the gain lies in the combination. The big brake kit Tiguan AD 355 mm combines 355 mm discs with six pistons per caliper and a design with plenty of aluminium. As a result, the braking performance stays much more consistent under repeated hard braking than with the original brakes. The kit fits wheels from 18 inch and has TÜV approval, so you can use it on public roads without complications.
Frequently asked questions
Which version do I need for my Tiguan AD?
V-Maxx has two kits for the Tiguan II. This big brake kit Tiguan AD 355 mm requires wheels of at least 18 inch. The 365 mm version (20 VW365 12) has a larger disc and more braking torque, but requires at least 19 inch. Both kits are intended for cars with an aluminium knuckle and a Ø55 mm clamp.
Is the big brake kit Tiguan AD 355 mm suitable for a car with more power than standard?
Yes, definitely. A Tiguan II with more power than standard benefits most from this kit: 355 mm discs and 6-piston calipers give more braking power and much less fade. The kW limits in the application list refer to the original factory output, and with an officially approved power upgrade the TÜV approval remains valid.
Do my current wheels fit over the calipers?
That depends on size and shape. Below 18 inch the kit does not fit; from 18 inch, the design of the wheel determines whether there is enough space. Check this in advance with the fitment template (WFC); sometimes a wheel spacer offers the solution.
Can I drive on public roads with this brake kit?
Yes, the kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3 and is therefore approved for use on public roads.
What is the delivery time?
The delivery time is 4 to 7 days.
