With the big brake kit Transporter T6 355 mm, the Volkswagen Transporter or Multivan T6 and T6.1 (7H/7J) gets a V-Maxx front brake kit with 355 mm two-piece brake discs and 6-piston calipers made of forged aluminium.

Compared with the 330 mm kit, this version has a larger disc and six instead of four pistons per caliper. That gives more braking power, for example with a fully loaded cargo area or on a T6 with more power than standard. Because the caliper, bracket and bell are made of aluminium and the discs have directional cooling channels, the kit also stays consistent after repeated hard braking.

The kit is suitable for all T6 and T6.1 versions from 62 to 150 kW and comes ready to fit with V-Maxx sport brake pads with TÜV approval and adapters for the original brake hoses. V-Maxx Autosport from the Netherlands supplies it with TÜV approval according to §19.3 and a 2-year warranty.

Fitting and delivery

Fit the kit according to the V-Maxx fitting instructions supplied and observe the tightening torques stated in them. The big brake kit Transporter T6 355 mm is only intended for cars with original steering knuckles. Wheel cleaner attacks the aluminium, so clean the kit with a mild soap.

Optional extras: V-Maxx Steelflex steel braided brake hoses for the front axle (620 mm, set of 2, PTFE inner hose, with TÜV approval), Ferodo Super Formula brake fluid (500 ml) and a V-Maxx wear indicator set. Delivery time: 4 to 7 days.

What is the difference between the three V-Maxx kits for the T6?

The 330 mm kit (20 VW330 51) has 4-piston calipers, fits from 17 inch and is not suitable for a T6 fitted from the factory with a 4-piston brake system with a 340×32.5 mm disc. This big brake kit Transporter T6 355 mm has 6-piston calipers and requires at least 18 inch. The 365 mm kit (20 VW365 51) has the largest disc and requires at least 19 inch.

Does the big brake kit Transporter T6 355 mm have TÜV approval?

Yes, the kit has a TÜV certificate according to §19.3. This means you can drive with it on public roads, even if your T6 has an officially approved power upgrade.

Is the clicking when changing direction of travel a defect?

No. The brake pads deliberately have 1 to 1.5 mm of play in the caliper, so they do not seize at high temperatures. When you change direction of travel, they shift and that produces a short click.

Does V-Maxx also make a kit for the rear axle of the T6?

No, V-Maxx only makes kits for the front axle. About 90% of the braking power comes from the front.
